Hey guys!! I have one that took the bait!! This house he is trying to get me to "rent" is actually for rent for $1200 a month and the real ad has photos and genuine phone numbers and links.
Let's play along and see how far we can go. What do you all think my next response should be?? Here's whats transpired so far:

I am interested in your house for rent. Can you tell me more about it? Pet deposits, etc... Thanks!!
Scammers reply:

Also how long do you intend to stay? How soon do you intend to move in?

I would string him along posing as an interested renter. Request an application and wait for instructions. You know he is going to want you to wire the money (play along) and send him this message regarding the transaction so he can pick up his money....

I would portray myself as a more naive person (never did this before) than a stupid one. I think he will automatically assume (once he receives another reply from you) that your not the sharpest tool in the shed, asking for an application for a house you could only drive by and see.
Just be sincere and I think he will take the bait. -

Sounds good!! I went by the house to see the outside and a realtor was there and let me in to see the inside. It's beautiful inside too!! And the price is definitely right!! And I can have my dog!! I did not see anywhere where you say if you can have cats or not?? I have a cat as well, and a couple of fish. I would also like to put in a small garden to grow my own tomatoes, zucchini, etc..
I'd like to move in around the first of June, if possible. I will take excellent care of the house and if you want, I can send you photos with updates of the house so you know its in good condition. By the time your wife and you get back to the states, I'll have enough $$ saved to buy my own place. =)
Anyhow, let me know what we need to do to proceed. Then I can give my 30 day notice at my current place.

(4)Full description of the house.
(5)Entrance and the rooms Keys.
These will be delivered to you in your current address so that you can possibly occupy our house as stated. Once again, I am giving you this on trust and do not disappoint me and I promise you that you will love the house as you move into it.

Ask him if you can forgo the application and credit/background check because your move in date has been moved up to the 2 weeks. Give him some BS story that your new job wants you to start ASAP. Offer to pay him 3 months rent in advance if he will make the allowance. -

I haven't been able to print this out. Sorry. =( I guess I will have to pass on the house for now because I have no way to fill this thing out. Unless I could just give you my basic information here and you could check it when you get a chance. I can guarantee you I have perfect credit, perfect rental history, and perfect home ownership history. (Which my credit report and current landlord will reflect.) I also have about $4000 for a security deposit/first months rent.
But if you cannot wait, I understand. Just let me know. Thanks.
( I figured the $4000 figure might entice him. LOL! )
