I found a post on the South Jersey Craigslist for outside sales in the optical field. I Googled the email address (lopmb@msn.com) and found that this dude posted on tons of Craigslists throughout the country, and many of the posts are for different positions, a majority of which are in the medical field. I can't tell if this guy is legit or not - on many of their posts he lists a name and phone number (Call Patrick 503.317.1871), and virtually none of them have been flagged. I wanted to add him to the Flakelist, but not unless I was totally sure he was a spammer/scammer. Anyone want to take a look and make a guess for themselves? Let me know what you think, thanks.

Hard to say, really. But posting the same ad in multiple locations is a no-no per CL rules. At the very least, this guy seems like a Spammer.

Spammers can be local, regional, national or global.

The definition of spam according to Craigslist is posting in multiple categories, posting too often, posting commercial ads or ads that "look" to commercial, posting out of area, and a few others.

Put this guy on the Flakelist. I have seen his ads and he is a Spammer, big time.

How do you google an email address? I have tried with 2 I am not sure of and get no results. The first is fatroyjones2000@gmail.com (wants a personal assistant - supposedly a lawyer and realtor) and is requesting basic personal information, all of which was on the resume I sent in response to the craigslist as. The 2nd is for johnrollins@gmail.com from a company named Qatar Petrochemical. Both emails I received just sounded "fishy", but I am desperate for a job (we are already staggeringly poor, and live on the MS Gulf Coast - my husband was a fisherman), and can't afford to miss ANYTHING

I have received at least 8 email responses to me applying for admin jobs in the Chicago area. I've received $3,000 in money orders, $3,000 in checks. It was usually for exec asst jobs where I'd be paid $500 and forward the balance to Alice in Wonderland (kidding about the name) in New York or Minnesota or bum @#$% Egypt. The point is, these are totally scams. I've started replying to them, calling them "scum of the earth" lowlife creeps that prey on desperate unemployed people, and have also turned over a lot of this stuff to the cops. Once you put a check through your bank, whether it's legit or not, you're responsible for the whole amount. The bank (or currency exchange) will cash it, find out 2 weeks later that it's phony and then you're on the hook for the whole amount. Here's what the new one looks like:

Yup. Classic scam. Anytime I see anything with them wanting to send YOU $$ and then you send some back, it's a dead giveaway. Especially if it has anything to do with another country. A legitimate company looking for a valuable employee would not do this, nor can they ask you for your ssi# and other personal identification until AFTER you are hired and accept the job.

I think this is a scam but I have not seen info to verify it.
I got this one 1st in which I did send my resume to Jobs.com and then I got 2 other scams that I checked out following. Which now makes me skeptical of this one too.
It makes me so mad when I am searching so hard for a job and this is the stuff that comes up.
