SO I am an idiot and replied to this posting, and gave him my info. Apparently there is a package on its way to my house and I confirmed it on FEDEX's website via tracking number. Any advice on how I don't go to jail?

I FALLED FOR THE SAME SCAMMER AS WELL

HI everyone, I got the same e-mails from same guy. And I realized it was same guy after I responded to the second e-mail in which I sent my resume with contact information. Then I realized that they were the same, I got an e-mail from Compustore Co ltd and the last one was from Mrs Karen Moor a wedding gown french designer in this e-mail the person tried to make it more personal and also real by talking about 2 daughters she had twins. God forgive and help this person. He is preying on the weak and needed people out there. God knows and he will reap what he sows only destruction in his life.

WHat happens after recieving your information

They send you a phony check (via FedEx or UPS), which they want you to cash and wire a portion to them via Western Union. Why the scammers always insist on "NO P.O. BOX" is so they won't use the U.S. Mail and risk mail fraud charges.

Yup got a new name for any future recipiants

I got the exact same email word for word from this looser,

Sinclair Conto

Thankfully when I got this email I had enough sense to ask a few friends about it. My girlfriend had heard of the company before and double checked here only to find this post.

Thanks to all of you!

Also posting for accounts receivable as Kevlin Miller

I applied through the Bakersfield, CA Craig's List for an accounts receivable position listed. Please see my post under the name Kevlin Miller to see what I got back as it was a similar scammer type response. I believe the person that emailed me is this same person.

Not as lucky

He sent me an email in south carolina as Jason Wallace. He also sent me a cashiers check which I deposited into my bank account yesterday. I will have to call my bank and let them know it is a fake check. I deposited it into my bank account and waited for it to clear because if it is indeed fake I know my bank will be able to identify it.

Poison, that cashiers check is indeed fake. Hopefully your bank won't charge you bounce back fees. Whatever you do, do NOT under any circumstances send that scammer one penny. That's what he's hoping you will do so he can scam you out of money, identity, bank information, you name it.

Always Play the Skeptic

Experienced the same thing, mine from "Dave McComb" as well. Thankfully I'm a skeptic tried and true, so I called to verify the money orders before trying to do anything with them. They were counterfeit. I'll be turning them and all of my correspondence with Mr. "McComb" over to the Post Office (they were USPS money orders) so that they can open an investigation into it.

Don't buy into anything that ask for your info

Don't give out anyinfo to anyone. and never your address. They are looking for people to let them send checks to so they can cash them . They will not clear you were smart to wait till it may or may not. But many have fallen pray to it and put the check in the bank withdrew the funds and they had a loss because the check bounced and they where in the hole for the money. It can ruine a life it happen to someone I new and they did not take my advise as they thought they new more then me. I know people that work in banks and they let me know what could happen if the check is no good . If it seems to be to good to be true it really is. be safe don't respond to anything unless you truly know them. Real professional company's and individuals don't ask you to wire them money anywhere.

bethine22

if skeptical do this

If you don't know for sure and are worried about it . Copy the email or just the name of the companies or person sending it. remember they research legitimate company's to use their info so it seems real . but When I highlight the info and check on the internet I just do a Google search usually I find the exact word for word email in a scam notice from someone else . I even called the company they were listing once I researched them found their number and gave them a call told them what was happening and they said if you receive anything from this person don't cash it as it is a fake and he don't work for them. There are all sorts of ways to be safe. if it is not a family member friend i trust or professional I work with or know extremely well and trust it is junk mail no matter what don't even open it send it to trash and spam good luck out there.
