No surprise that the website "can not be loaded" now that I've already visited it once. But I responded to the ad for a position and this is the email I received back. Clearly a scam. BEWARE!

What a waste. Out of curiosity, where are most of you getting the advertisement for the jobs? I found it on craigslist. |

I also got it from Craigslist. I think this one time is enough to deter me from using Craigslist at all, for any reason. |

The Scam Part
They have you fill out this form that you would think would be pretty legit. At the very end they want your credit score and of course, they recommend a certain site to go to in which you can recieve your credit score in case you don't know it. I'm sure this is where they will ultimately get the more personal information that they need to know to make sure your good credit score gets recked. I'm sorry, but any job that wants your credit score sounds a little fishy to me and then if they want it before even offering to interview you makes me even more skeptical. If you want a background check, that is one thing...my personal credit score should not be any job's business esp. if it is a customer service postion. |

Frustrating - Salem Oregon
I responded to this ad, from Craigslist for my son who is 18. I am glad it didn't go to him directly. I got the same letter back, but decided to "bing" the company before responding. Thanks fakelist! NW |

I, unfortunately, fell for the scam. The credit-score company that you run your credit report through asks for a $1 processing fee, which I agreed to, stupidly. Today I realized that there are two charges for $29.95, two charges for $1 (one of which I agreed to) and one charge for $2 on my statement. I called, cancelled my "membership" and demanded a refund. Mia, the all-too-familiar-with-this-issue customer service rep argued with me at first and said, "Well, you or someone in your household authorized the charges." (Cute, sweetheart, but 'living in my household' doesn't qualify one to authorize charges on my debit card. Regardless, no one, myself included, authorized a charge to my debit card.) So, I said, "Connect me with the proper representative because I am absolutely not paying for something I did not authorize." She said, "Okay, I'll credit you back. You'll see the refund in three to five business days." I searched the scam, and I am one of MANY to run into this issue. And, yes, I already know I'm an idiot for falling for this. |
