This is the email I got this morning.

We appreciate you e-mailing us. In case the post was not clear, the responsibilities of this position are as follows: you will be answering our main phone and taking messages whenever applicable, you will be scheduling the company meetings, and running errands for us for things such as purchasing supplies and making our bank deposits (you will always be provided with a company car). While you are running errands, you will also be given one of our company credit card(s) for all business purchases.

You are very qualified for the current job position, more so than the other 9 applicants we have received applications from. I want to find an available time to take the next step with you. However, before I am able to schedule a formal meeting, my company requires that you obtain a recent(past 14-21 business days) credit report. We, at Paddon Corp, started this because our company had some bad experiences with former employees taking advantage of access to one of the company credit cards.

Both the company and I strongly prefer it if you use http://PaddonCorp.com/Credit-Report to obtain your check as they are giving the report at zero cost to you. Paddon has also discovered that they always report back the most accurate information compared to others.

After you have submitted all required information, their company will display your personal report. Then, you will email me the reported credit score, a daytime phone number, and your availability to schedule an interview.
Do not email me the complete report, as it will most likely contain private content. If you have a less than desirable credit score, it will never prevent you from a position with us. Personally, I had a fairly low score whenever I started here.

If you don't wish to send in a recent credit check, unfortunately I will need to meet with the second choice.

Now it looks all nice and legitimate right? Well I went to their website and it looked good too but when I tried to view their privacy policy and terms of use it just brought up whatever I had been viewing. Then I called the phone number. All it said was that if I was calling about the craigslist posting that they were swamped with applications and to leave a message. It didn't even ring! And in the email it says they've only had nine other applicants. Stupid spammers.
