my neice was selling a car and this person emailed her and ask her to take the car off then actually sent her a 5000 dollar check Attempts to get you to cash bogus checks for more than the original price of your sale item and asks for you to send money to someone else via Western Union. Our case: selling a car in Oregon, we received a check via UPS from Tennessee for twice the asking price and insisted that we send remaining balance to New York for a moving company to come get the car. I called the bank that the check was suppose to be drawn from and was informed that this not the only case of this scam being reported.
