Email Address: sunco.incorporated@gmail.com

Post Title: Receptionist/Admin Assistant Position

Location: memphis, TN

States affected: AR - arkansas     MS - mississippi     TN - tennessee

Notes:
Sent resume in answer to a ad placed on Craig's List and received the following email.

Thank you so much for your interest in our opportunity.

I appreciate you contacting us. In case our posting was not clear, some of the responsibilities of this position are as follows:

* You will be answering the phone and taking messages when applicable.
* You will be scheduling the company meetings.
* Running errands for the company for things such as purchasing supplies and making bank deposits.
* You will be provided with a company car.
* While you are running errands, we will also be funding your expense account for all business purchases.

You definitely seem qualified for the position, and more so than the other 16 applicants we received resumes from. I would like to take the next step with you. In order to run errands for our company, you will need to have your own expense account. We used to provide the account directly, however, we started using another service provider because our company had some bad incidents with prior employees taking advantage of having access to a company credit card.

Please open up your free Expense Account

When you have completed your account registration please email me back to schedule a formal meeting and finalize the employment contract and we will fund your account via direct deposit.

I am looking forward to meeting with you.

Sincerely,
Michelle Fields - HR Supervisor

This sounds like a bot opening up accounts for Mr Simmons by false representation as future employment, report it to your local police department and they can trace the IP address and then well all have a class action lawsuit!

I also have received the same email. Location Florida. I wish this lady would quit emailing me. Also when you tell them to stop they have yet another person email you. First it was get a credit score from freecreditreport.com Then when I cancelled from that site and spoke to a rep. They seemed disappointed about Craigs list using their name but I'm sure they know exactly who it is.

Also affecting Arizona

I received the same e-mail after responding to a CraigsList advertisement. In the e-mail from "Sunco Incorporated" I was asked to open my expense account. The link went to a site for a Rush Card (pre-paid debit card). I am discouraged by the number of scams posing on the internet as legitimate employment opportunities. I went to the FTC site and could not submit a complaint as there were not options for this type of scam - that I could see anyway. If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate them.

Shawn, file a complaint against Rush Card's affiliate program. You don't have to go on the FTC website to file, you can send an email (spam@uce.gov). Forward a copy of the scammer's response (include fuller header info of the message)along with your complaint.

Here is the address of Rush Card:

Just received same email in Pismo Beach, Ca

Just received the same email from Michelle Fields in Pismo Beach, Ca. I cannot even locate where I even applied for this position. Even so, whenever I apply for anything that is Admin/Office, it seems to be a scam on Craigslist. It's very rare that I will apply for something in that category anymore.
