I replied to a job posting on craigslist and go a reply email from Maxx Reppe the body of the email is as follows;

I'm the Executive Recruitment Specialist for FullTime Staffing. We'd like to thank you for your interest in the position. After looking at your credentials, we feel you would possibly be a great match for the job.
The client would like to set up an interview with you as soon as possible. We'll need you to complete the pre-interview screening before we are able to schedule an interview.

After completing the pre-application screening a screen came up telling me that they needed verify my identity and that would be done via a credit report. It stated that it would be free to me and forwarded to them. That they could not accept a faxed or emailed credit report. The text below is directly from the screen asking me to complete my ID Verification;

Fulltime Staffing is required by law to maintain documentation confirming the identity of all employees. Our identity verification/background check program is through Experian/Equifax, which is in the form of a credit check. This identity verification is completely free to you while allowing us to receive an electronic response much quicker than traditional background checks (less invasive too). By completing the background check/credit report we will NOT receive any of your private credit history details or personal information. We simply receive your first and last name, and an "Ok" to proceed if there are no background discrepancies.

This step is required before we are able to schedule an interview. Also, keep in mind that our decision to hire you is not determined at all by your personal credit score or history.

Please note - for the identity verification/background check we cannot accept a scanned, faxed, or emailed report because we will not be able to electronically verify your identity from our end. I thought this was fishy so I googled this company and the first posting was on flakelist. It was for a different Job posting but the body of the email reply was identical except for the url link. This is also the second time that a credit report has been 'required' in order to be considered for the job.

Make sure you investigate/research all companies asking for a credit check for job consideration.
