Post Title: George ***** Job Interview "Opt-In"

Location: SF bay area

States affected: CA - california

Notes:
Was very suspicious of the email below that I received, especially since the Sender's email address domain (americanfidelitymedical.com) and the company name used at the beginning of the email (American Affordable Healthcare) were not the same. And I've never applied for a job to a company by either name previously. After doing a Google search on the latter and coming up with no company by that name, I did the same for American Fidelity Medical and came across multiple posts on this site regarding similar emails. This does appear to be a scam of sorts based on other posts I've read. Here is the content of the email I received:

Hello George,

American Affordable Healthcare, is looking for individuals with administrative, customer service, or data entry experience. Must be able to work in a team environment and get along well with others while also working efficiently on their own.

This is a position where you can develop additional skills and excel while giving your best. You must be able and willing to learn new things. You should be experienced in Microsoft Office.

We have reviewed your resume and are extending to you a job interview.

You may be ready to start working now!

If you are interested in this job and would like an interview, please reply to this email. If you do not want further mailings from us don't reply to this email. This is an opt-in email.

Hi,

I just received this e-mail, I have an interview set tomorrow with this very company. I wanted to look them up, to be informed of who they were. The Flakelist came up immediately! I will not be going to this interview! Thank you for your help!

Hello jean,

This is an opt-in email from American Affordable Care. We are a medical transcription company.

American Affordable Care provides precise medical transcription of voice files that doctors dictate for hospitals, clinics and doctor offices.

American Affordable Care also conducts its own training program that prepares individuals for the medical transcription profession. This training is done online in the comfort of your own home. A personal trainer is provided to guide individuals in the training program through a Live Chat environment.

As a recruiter for this national transcription service, I am seeking full-and part-time, home-based medical transcriptionists. We are committed to providing a work environment where medical transcriptionists can grow and be respected for the professionals they are.

This is for entry level individuals and if you are not yet qualified, we'll provide tuition FREE training and a personal trainer that you'll need to become qualified. Once you meet our criteria, which will be defined for you before you begin, you will be certified by us as an accomplished medical transcriptionist and can begin to work for American Affordable Care.

The pay is good. After completing the training program, people seem to do quite well and as you get more experience, people seem to earn $1,000 to $2,000 a month working about 20-30 hours a week. Some make $3,000-$4,000 a month, full-time 40-48 hours a week (This does not happen overnight). If you want to work more, you'll earn more. If you want to work less, you'll earn less. The choice is yours.

We will provide to you a great working environment where you can make a difference. Our medical transcriptionists start as contractors and are eligible for raises. Whether or not you have experience, you can find rewarding work as a medical transcriptionist.

This is an opt-in email. If you do not want additional mailings from us do not reply to this email.

If you are interested in an interview please reply to this email.

You're welcome! ☺

It seems this scam is spreading like a cancer. Here's a few comments about it on another thread we have regarding the same exact company/scam.

American Fidelity Medical

I appreciate this website. When ever I receive emails from companies such as this one who prays on the innocent indiviudals that may be out of work and needing work or those who want to maybe make a little extra money, I always want to verify online. I am sure if it is a scam, it WILL be somewhere online that someone else was approached by this same company or individual.

This company contacted me via email. I have resumes out on careerbuilder.com, monster.com and a few other websites, but mainly I receive more scam emails from careerbuilder.com.

The email that they sent to me was as follows:
