Welcome to FlakeList 2.0
Tuesday, December 15, 2009
What better way is there to start a new blog than to simultaneously introduce FlakeList 2.0? Yes, it was high time the FlakeList received a facelift, especially in light of it's recent popularity. And adding a blog couldn't hurt anything either, I suppose.
Really though, I've been putting a lot of thought into how to make FlakeList.org a more enjoyable experience. The previous design was pretty basic and didn't follow any Web 2.0 practices. To be honest, I wasn't sure if FlakeList was going to be a hit or not. So I played it safe. I slapped together a simple design and went with it. "Let's see what happens," I said to myself.
As of this blog post, our database is nearing 1,000 flakes, scammers and spammers. That's not too bad considering we've only been online since late January 2009 and our marketing budget is basically non-existent. I would like to thank all of you who have stuck with us and reported flakes. You've helped provide a great resource to save people from being victimized by inconsiderate jerks.
So now you may be asking, "What's the point of this blog?" Well, I intend to blog mostly about identifying flakes, avoiding scams, rejecting spam and generally how to use FlakeList.org. I'm sure there will be some other stuff tossed in here and there for good measure. But the main intent is to empower FlakeList users with helpful information.
